BFA, B.Ed., BFD

Bri Foster, a Canadian-born multidisciplinary artist, resides and works in Montréal, Canada. She studied at the University of Manitoba, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2006 and a Bachelor of Education in 2008. Furthering her studies, she attended Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University) and received a Bachelor of Design in Fashion in 2015. Bri has worked professionally as a secondary school art teacher, costume designer for theatre and cinema, and clothing designer–specializing in womenswear and soft accessories.

Bri explores the intersections of clothing, objects, and identity, infusing her work with themes of nostalgia, dreams, and liminal spaces. Through innovative approaches to textile sculpture and embroidery, she transforms personal childhood symbols into a sensory journey. By deconstructing dolls, Bri raises questions about agency and animacy, reflecting on the sentiments of youth. Transformed into conduits for complex emotions, dolls serve as portals to inner worlds and repositories of memories.
